ALBANY, Ga. – The Benedict College volleyball team went 4-3 at the SIAC Crossover Tournament over the weekend.
Benedict took victories over Lane, LeMoyne-Owen, Central State and Miles. Benedict rallied against Miles after dropping the first set. Benedict beat Lane, LeMoyne-Owen and Central State in straight sets. The Lady Tigers had a 2-0 lead over Tuskegee, but dropped a hard-fought five-set match. Benedict also dropped matches to Kentucky State and Spring Hill.
V'Aira Harris reached double figures in assists in all six matches she played in. She had a triple-double with 10 kills, 11 assists and 15 digs against Central State, and also had a triple-double with 15 kills, 16 assists and 12 digs against Tuskegee. She also had 11 digs against LeMoyne-Owen and 20 digs against Spring Hill.
Aaliyah Lawson had 12 kills against Tuskegee and 11 kills against Lane and Miles. She had a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs against Tuskegee.
Adrionna Washington had 17 kills against Kentucky State.
Majda Cisic reached double-figures in digs in five of the six matches she played in.
Benedict moves to 6-6 on the season, and 4-3 in the SIAC. The Lady Tigers host Claflin on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. The match will be video streamed.
