COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers got a season-high 10 kills from Olivia Williams to defeat Livingstone 3-0 in a non-conference volleyball match on Friday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.

Benedict won the match 25-7, 25-16, 25-16 to improve to 9-10 on the season. Livingstone falls to 3-14 overall.

Benedict hit a season-best .413 in the match, including a blistering .524 in the first set.

Adrionna Washington also had 10 kills for the Lady Tigers. Brianne McMillian had 29 assists, while Majda Cisic had a team-high 17 digs.

After back-to-back games where the Lady Tigers lost the first two games, but then rallied to tie the match, only to lose the fifth set, Benedict came out strong in the first set against Livingstone. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a big lead and put the set away on a kill by Williams. Williams got the set-winning point on a kill in the second set. The Lady Tigers closed out the third set with four straight points, with Taylor Stephens recording the match winner.

Benedict has home matches against Fort Valley State on Tuesday, then a match against Paine on Thursday, with both matches slated to start at 7 p.m.
