MEMPHIS, Tenn. – LeMoyne-Owen outscored Benedict 27-17 in the fourth quarter to rally past the Lady Tigers and take a 65-61 victory in their SIAC opener on Saturday.

Benedict falls to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the SIAC. LeMoyne-Owen improves to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the SIAC.

Benedict had a 30-29 lead at the half and had a 44-38 lead heading into the final period. LeMoyne-Owen went on a 10-2 run early in the fourth quarter to take the lead, 52-51. Benedict had a 57-55 lead after a layup by JaBree Jones with 2:16 left to play. LeMoyne-Owen outscored the Lady Tigers 10-4 over the final two minutes to pull out the win.

Jones led the Lady Tigers with 13 points, while Ay'Anna Bey added 12. Dana Gettis led LeMoyne-Owen with 17 points.

Benedict is at Lane College on Monday for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
