SALISBURY, N.C. – Livingstone used a 12-0 fourth-quarter run to take an 86-80 victory over Benedict College in a non-conference women's basketball game on Saturday.

Shannon Owens gave Benedict a 71-70 lead with 4:49 left in the game. The Lady Tigers went more than three minutes without scoring as the Lady Blue Bears jumped out to an 82-71 lead with 1:39 remaining. The Lady Tigers were able to close the gap to 82-80 with 27 seconds left, but Livingstone closed out the contest hitting four of six free throws.
Benedict falls to 2-7 on the season. Livingstone improves to 5-4.
Freshman
Ay'Anna Bey led the Lady Tigers with a season-high 25 points.
Ayanna Armstead added 17 points and Owens chipped in 15 points.
Benedict shot 50 percent from the floor (27-of-54), while holding Livingstone to 37 percent shooting (27-of-73), but the Lady Tigers committed 34 turnovers, which led to 28 points for the Lady Blue Bears.
Benedict travels to Tigerville, S.C. to take on North Greenville College on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
