Benedict Men's Tennis Team Sweeps Competition At SIAC Roundup

MOBILE, Ala. – The Benedict College men's tennis team went undefeated at the second SIAC Tennis Roundup over the weekend to improve to 14-8 overall and 11-1 in conference play.

The Tigers avenged their only conference loss with a 9-0 victory over Morehouse. In their first meeting in Columbia in February, the Maroon Tigers defeated Benedict 5-2.

Benedict also defeated Lane (9-0), LeMoyne-Owen (9-0), Tuskegee (9-0), Fort Valley State (9-0) and closed out the roundup by dropping their only two points of the weekend with a 7-2 victory over Spring Hill.

Benedict wrapped up the top seed for the SIAC Men's Tennis Championship, which will be played April 18 and 19 at the Peachtree Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga. The Tigers are the two-time defending champions.

Benedict will wrap up the regular season with a non-conference match against Spartanburg Methodist at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will recognize their three seniors.
