COLUMBIA, S.C. – Miles College outscored Benedict 17-10 in the fourth quarter to take a 58-55 victory over the Lady Tigers in a SIAC women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Benedict fell to 4-13 overall and 4-5 in the SIAC. Miles improves to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the SIAC with its first win over Benedict in nearly six years. Benedict had won nine straight in the series since the 2011-12 season.

Shirvel Luke led the Lady Tigers with 13 points each. White also had a game-high eight rebounds.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead, taking a 15-5 advantage less than five minutes into the contest. But Miles rallied to take a 20-19 lead at the end of the first quarter and the lady Golden Bears scored right before the buzzer to take a 33-31 lead at the half.
Benedict closed out the third quarter with a 7-2 run to take a 45-41 lead heading into the final period.
Miles took a 55-49 lead with 1:55 left to play to cap off a 10-2 run and held on for the win.
The Lady Tigers have a break until Jan. 15 when they host Paine at 5:30 p.m.
