ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Benedict College served up 21 aces and swept Claflin University in three sets on Monday in a match that was played on the campus of S.C. State University.
The Lady Tigers improved to 12-9 overall with the 25-8, 25-18, 25-19 victory. Claflin fell to 4-11.
Adrionna Washington led the way with six service aces, while
Amber Scott served up five.
V'Aira Harris and
Alia Gomez had three each. Harris and Washington led the Lady Tigers with six kills each. Gomez had a team-high 12 digs and
Ashleigh Reeves had a team-high 12 assists.
Along with the 21 reception errors, Claflin hit -.012 for the match, with more attack errors (24) than kills (23).
The Lady Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.
