CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Benedict College men's tennis team dropped just one set in a 9-0 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers improved to 3-5 on the season. Johnson C. Smith falls to 1-8.
Benedict swept the doubles matches with
Nikola Aleksic and
Quentin Eloise winning 8-5 at No. 1.
Armando Flores and
Julius Mutetwa took an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, and
Scott Perrin and
Taj Ballantyne won 8-3 at No. 3.
In singles action, the top five spots won in straight sets. Perrin picked up his first singles win of the season by pulling out a close match in a tiebreaker, 6-2, 3-6, 11-9.
Benedict begins conference play on Thursday, hosting the first SIAC Tennis Roundup.
