SALISBURY, N.C. –
Taylor Roberts threw a one-hitter and the Benedict College Lady Tigers stole 17 bases as they took an 18-0 victory over Livingstone College in a non-conference softball game on Tuesday.
The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was halted in the third inning when a Livingstone player was injured. The Livingstone team had just nine players on the roster to start the game, and Benedict was awarded a forfeit victory when the Blue Bears could not continue to field a complete team.
Benedict improves to 21-9 on the season. Livingstone falls to 0-14.
Khayreyah Parrish led the offense, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and stealing four bases.
Starkeira Daniel went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and
Tandreanna Conyers went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Amari Lawson went 2-for-3 and stole four bases.
Roberts allowed one hit, walked one and struck out six to improve to 12-4 on the season.
Benedict travels to Fort Valley, Ga. for a three-game conference series against Fort Valley State on Saturday and Sunday.
