PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The Benedict College men's tennis team advanced to the championship match of the 2018 SIAC Men's Tennis Championship with a 5-0 victory over Fort Valley State on Monday afternoon at the Peachtree Tennis Center.
The Tigers, the three-time defending conference champions, will take on Morehouse College in the championship match at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Benedict easily won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Benedict then picked up a pair of easy wins in singles as
Armando Flores took a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, and
Scott Perrin cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
Benedict is now 14-8 on the season. Benedict and Morehouse will meet in the conference title match for the third year in a row. Benedict won both regular season meetings with Morehouse this season.
