ALBANY, Ga. – The Benedict College softball team was eliminated from the SIAC Championship on Friday as Lane College rallied to score four runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 7-6 victory.
Benedict wraps up the season with a 23-15 record.
The Lady Tigers scored two runs in the second inning as
Torcealon Kelly drove in both runs with a single. Benedict increased the lead in the third inning, scoring a run off a Lane error and then adding two more runs on a single by
Sharik Woods for a 5-0 lead.
Lane scored three runs in the fourth inning, getting two runs on a Benedict error and another on a wild pitch. The Lady Dragons took the lead with four runs in the sixth inning for a 7-5 lead. The Lady Tigers pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth on a squeeze bunt by
Khayreyah Parrish.
