COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College volleyball team defeated Allen University 3-0 on Thursday night.

The Lady Tigers won the match 25-14, 25-18, 25-15, improving their overall record to 10-7. Allen falls to 0-4.

Adrionna Washington led Benedict with 10 kills on the contest. V'Aira Harris added nine kills, three aces, and 13 digs to contribute to the victory.

To begin the first set, both teams went back and forth until the score was even at 9-9. Benedict would then go on a 16-5 run to win the set.

In the second set, the Lady Tigers scored eight of the first nine points for an early lead. Allen cut the lead to 16-14 before the Lady Tigers scored eight of the next nine points for a 24-15 lead. Brikyia Benjamin scored a kill to win the set. In the third set, Allen had a 14-10 lead before the Lady Tigers reeled off 14 consecutive points behind the serving of Harris.

Benedict will travel to Savannah State University on Wednesday.
