Tigers Shooting To Make It Four In A Row

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers carry a three game win streak into a road matchup against Clark Atlanta University on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. inside L.S. Epps Gymnasium.

Benedict is coming off a come-from-behind victory (68-62) against Fort Valley State on Saturday, where they outscored the Wildcats 29-10 in the final 10 minutes of the second half. NyQuan McCombs and Anthony Gomes combined for 32 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field.

In their last meeting with the Panthers, the Tigers held a 38-16 advantage in the paint, with Deon Joyner and Romello Jones combining for 32 points and 14 rebounds. The Tigers won that matchup by a score of 83-70.

Clark Atlanta has won two in a row since losing four straight at the end of January. The Panthers have been led by Romaine Thomas (16.9 points per game), Tyler Singleton (14.3 points per game), and Calvin White (12 points per game) over the course of the season. Thomas is averaging 17.5 points and 11 rebounds in Clark Atlanta's previous two games, including a 26-point, 12-rebound, five-block performance at home against Paine College.

Clark Atlanta sits at the top of the SIAC in free-throw percentage (73.6 percent), while Benedict currently fouls at the eighth highest rate in the conference. A win tonight will bring the Tigers back to a .500 winning percentage for the first time since November.
