COLUMBIA, S.C. – Deon Joyner, Romello Jones, DeShawn Graham, and Anthony Gomes will play their final game inside the HRC Arena tonight at 7:30 p.m. as they look to take down Savannah State University.

The Tigers jumped out to an 11-point first half lead in Savannah on January 25th, then battled to send the game into double-overtime. Benedict will be looking for revenge against Savannah State as they suffered a 108-98 loss the last time the two teams squared off. Joyner poured in 27 points, while Malachi McCoy and Tyrese Mapp combined for 30 points and 30 rebounds. Gomes tallied 17 points as well during the contest.

"This is the first time all year that we have been 100 percent healthy so we believe this is a very winnable game. The guys have been working extremely hard in practice to ensure we send the seniors out on a good note," said assistant coach Phillip Jackson. "Our last time out against Savannah was a heartbreaking loss, so the guys would like to get a little payback. I believe we lost because of the little things down the stretch, but are now better prepared to close out games because of it."

Marcus Scott and Trey Deloach led the way for Savannah State combining for 54 points, while shooting 20-for-30 (66 percent) from the field. Zion Williams double-doubled with 14 points and 13 assists as well in the game. Adrian Bonds currently leads Savannah in scoring on the season averaging 17.59 points per game.

Savannah State (8-11 overall, 8-8 conference) currently sits a half-game up on Benedict in the conference standings. This is all that separates Savannah State, Morehouse College, and Benedict from third and fifth in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Tonight's contest could potentially decide who will be the three seed in the eastern division heading into the tournament.
