MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Benedict College baseball team fell to Post University, 23-2, in their season opener on Friday afternoon at the Ripken Experience.
Benedict drops to 0-1 overall, while Post University improves to 1-3.
Bradon O'Connor went 1-for-3 with a walk, while also adding a stolen base on the day.
Post took a 16-0 lead after the first three innings.
Nick Weston drove in the first run for the Tigers in the top of the fourth inning, bringing in
Christopher Harper to put Benedict on the board. The next batter,
Murrell Martin, singled to center field to drive in Harper for the Tigers' second run of the game.
Benedict struggled to keep the momentum, giving up six runs in the bottom half of the fourth.
Benedict will host Piedmont International University for their home opener on Saturday, with a doubleheader starting at noon.
