COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers softball team opened the 2020 season on Monday afternoon, dropping a doubleheader against North Greenville University.

Benedict lost 9-1 in the first game, then dropped the second game 17-0 to fall to 0-2 on the season.

In the first game, Marshallnae Bell drove in the lone Lady Tigers' run with a sharp double in the left-center gap, scoring Taylor McNeal.

Taylor Roberts collected the Lady Tigers only hit in the second game.

Benedict will host St. Augustine's University on Friday in another doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. at Tiger Field.
