MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers fell to the College of Staten Island, 21-9, in a non-conference baseball game on Sunday afternoon at the Ripken Experience.
Benedict drops to 4-4 overall, while Staten Island improves to 4-0 overall.
Bradon O'Connor picked up three hits for the Tigers as well as scoring two runs.
Ahmad Ali and
Anthony Johnson both had two hits and drove in a combined four runs on the afternoon.
Benedict jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning off a two-run double by Johnson. Staten Island answered right back with nine runs in the bottom half of the first and six in the second.
The Tigers scored four runs in the final two innings to close the gap to 21-9.
Benedict will host Glenville State College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader.
