TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Benedict College softball team was held to just five hits in two games as the Lady Tiges dropped a doubleheader to North Greenville University on Wednesday.
North Greenville won the first game 10-1 in five innings, then took the second game 8-0 in five innings. Benedict falls to 7-3 on the season. NGU improves to 18-8.
The Lady Tigers scored their only run of the day in the first inning of the first game.
Taylor McNeal singled and stole second.
Zanila Booker hit an infield single with two outs, and a throwing error on the play allowed McNeal to score.
Daisha Mitchell got Benedict's other hit, a single in the third inning.
In the second game, McNeal led off the game with a single. Benedict only had one other hit in the game, a single by
Emori Mitchell in the fifth inning.
Benedict takes a break from action until April 10 and 11, playing a four-game weekend series against Fort Valley State at Tiger Field.
