COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Benedict College football team jumped up in both national football polls, following Saturday's victory over nationally-ranked Albany State.
Benedict moved up to 17
th in the D2football.com media poll, up from No. 23 last week. In the American Football Coaches Association poll, Benedict jumped from 23
rd to a tie for 18
th.
In the AFCA poll, Benedict received 229 total points to tie Colorado School of Mines for the 18
th spot.
In the D2football.com poll, the Tigers jumped up six spots, while Albany State, ranked 14
th last week, fell to 24
th.
In the HBCU Media Poll by BoxToRow.com, Benedict is ranked 5
th among all HBCU schools, including Division I programs.
