COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict College won the first set, but Edward Waters University won the next three in a close four-set volleyball match on Monday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Edward Waters won the match 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21 to improve to 16-8 overall and 10-2 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 10-10 overall and 6-8 in the SIAC.
Cana Smith had a career-high 20 kills and hit .314. She also recorded 14 digs to notch a double-double.
Jade Hollins also had a double-double with 29 assists and a career-high 22 digs.
Aliyah Jones added 12 kills, and
Kaiah Green added eight kills and a team-high three blocks.
Benedict is back in action with a non-conference match against Paine College on Thursday, starting at 6 p.m.
