Benedict Football Ranked 2nd In Super Region 2

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The NCAA has released its first official football rankings for Super Region 2, which will determine the teams advancing to the Division II playoffs, and the Benedict College Tigers are ranked second.
 
Delta State from the Gulf South Conference, ranked sixth in the nation, is currently No. 1 in the region. Benedict is second, followed by Wingate from the South Atlantic Conference.
 
West Florida, from the Gulf South Conference, is fourth, followed by Virginia Union University from the CIAA. Tusculum from the South Atlantic Conference is sixth, followed by Tuskegee in seventh.
 
The rest of the top 10 is Albany State, Limestone and Fayetteville State.
 
Super Region Two is comprised of schools from the SIAC, CIAA, Gulf South Conference and South Atlantic Conference.
 
The top seven teams in the final region rankings will advance to the NCAA Division II playoffs, which begin Nov. 19. The No. 1 seed will have a bye until the second round on Nov. 26.
