COLUMBIA, S.C. – Savannah State University hit .250 and served up 11 aces to take a 3-0 victory over Benedict College in a SIAC volleyball match on Tuesday in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Savannah State won the match 25-22, 25-16, 25-21 to improve to 7-8 overall and 7-4 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 8-7 overall and 5-6 in the SIAC.
Cana Smith led the Lady Tigers with 11 kills and hit .345. As a team, Benedict hit .141, committing 20 errors on 99 total attacks.
Jade Hollins had 23 assists and
La'Jai Wilson recorded 10 digs.
Savannah State served 11 aces, including the final set point in the first set.
Benedict travels to Jacksonville, Fla., to take on Edward Waters on Thursday at 4 p.m.
