ETTRICK, Va. – Benedict shot 24 percent and Virginia Union took a 58-38 victory on Saturday in the CIAA/SIAC Challenge Tournament at the VUU Multipurpose Center.
 
Benedict falls to 2-2 on the season. Virginia Union improves to 3-1.
 
Mahogany Randall led the Lady Tigers with 12 points.
 
Benedict shot just 2-of-14 in the second quarter as the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Tigers 17-7. Benedict shot 13-of-54 for the game, and made less than half (9-of-19) of their free throws.
 
Benedict returns to action on Tuesday with a home contest against Augusta University at 5:30 p.m.
