CLEMSON, S.C. – Benedict shot 27.3 percent and the Clemson Tigers took a 91-45 victory in a men's basketball exhibition game on Wednesday night from Littlejohn Coliseum.
 
A layup by Malachi McCoy cut the lead to 21-12 in the first half before Clemson went on to build as much as a 26-point first-half lead. Clemson opened the second half with a 15-2 run to build a 64-25 lead. Clemson held its largest lead, 89-36, with 4:32 left in the game.
 
Brandon Smith, Gob Gabriel and Gedeon Buzangu all had eight points to lead Benedict.
 
Benedict will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11 against Florida Tech at 7:30 p.m.
