COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers scored the first 13 points of the game and never looked back, rolling to a 93-77 victory over Clark Atlanta University in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena on Monday night.
The Lady Tigers (17-6 overall, 11-2 SIAC) won their sixth straight game and 90 or more points for the third straight game. Clark Atlanta fell to 5-14 overall and 5-6 in the SIAC.
Benedict had 15 players see action in the game, and 14 scored.
Jasmine Gholson,
Ayanna Armstead and
Ay'Anna Bey all scored 14 points each.
Camryn Bostick added 13 points and
Keondra Archie had 11 points.
The Lady Tigers dominated on the boards, out-rebounding the Lady Panthers 66-24.
Shanassia White grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds. Benedict had more offensive rebounds (26) than Clark Atlanta had total rebounds.
The Lady Tigers had a 25-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter and built as much as a 27-point margin late in the second quarter before taking a 46-21 lead at the half. They built their largest lead of 34 points in the third quarter.
Benedict plays at Allen University on Thursday night.
