COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College men's tennis team, fresh off their SIAC Championship, defeated Johnson C. Smith 7-0 on Thursday afternoon.
After earning the doubles point, the Tigers won all six singles matches. The closest match came at No. 3 singles, where
Batsiraii Saurombe rallied after dropping the first set 7-6 to win the second set 6-0, then clinched the point with a 10-1 victory in the tiebreaker.
Benedict improves to 16-4. Johnson C. Smith falls to 2-7.
The Tigers will compete in the NCAA Tournament May 9-10 at a site to be determined.
