COLUMBIA, S.C. – Cana Smith had 12 kills to help lead the Benedict College Lady Tigers to a 3-1 victory over Clark Atlanta in their SIAC opener on Saturday afternoon in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
 
Benedict won the match 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22 to improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the SIAC on the season. Clark Atlanta falls to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the SIAC.
 
The Lady Tigers recorded 12 blocks in the contest, led by T'Yannah Lake, who had 5 ½ blocks.
 
La'Jai Wilson had 19 assists, while Jade Hollins added 18. Jordan Williams recorded 14 digs, while Hollins had 12.
 
Benedict hosts Albany State in another SIAC matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
