COLUMBIA, S.C. – Spring Hill College's Emyria Harris hit a 3-pointer with 34 seconds left to give the Lady Badgers the lead for good, and they defeated the Benedict College Lady Tigers 76-73 on Monday night in a SIAC women's basketball contest.
The Lady Tigers had a 61-53 lead with 7:34 left in the fourth quarter, matching their largest lead of the game. Spring Hill scored the next seven points and the game was close the rest of the way. There were 10 total lead changes in the game.
Benedict falls to 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the SIAC. Spring Hill improves to 2-9 overall and 1-6 in the SIAC.
Mahogany Randall led the Lady Tigers with 17 points.
Taylor Christmas added 14 points.
Tyashia Bostick, playing in her first game of the season for the Lady Badgers, led Spring Hill with 27 points.
Benedict returns to action with a home game on Wednesday against Tuskegee at 5:30 p.m.
