COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Tuskegee University Golden Tigers jumped out to an early big lead and held on for a 74-41 victory over the Benedict College Lady Tigers in a SIAC women's basketball contest on Wednesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Tuskegee outscored Benedict 14-2 over the final four minutes to take a 25-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Tuskegee increased the lead to 48-19 at the half.
Benedict committed 27 turnovers in the contest, which Tuskegee was able to convert into 31 points.
Mahogany Randall led the Lady Tigers with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Shakera Duncan added 10 points.
The Lady Tigers fall to 3-9 overall and 1-6 in the SIAC. Tuskegee improves to 11-3 overall and 8-0 in the SIAC.
Benedict returns to action with a home game on Saturday against Clark Atlanta, with tipoff at 1 p.m.
