AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers shot 25.8 percent and dropped their fifth straight game as Paine College took a 70-45 non-conference victory on Monday night.
Paine jumped out to an early 9-2 lead and had an 18-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Lions scored the final five points of the second quarter for a 30-17 halftime lead. The lead increased to 22 points, 53-31, at the end of the third quarter.
Taylor Christmas scored a career-high 23 points, while grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds for the Lady Tigers, who fell to 3-11 overall.
Madison Golden added 10 points. Paine, 1-9, won its first game of the season.
The Lady Tigers return to action with a road trip to Albany State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
