AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Benedict College women's volleyball team won their third match in a row in convincing fashion, beating Paine College 3-0 on Wednesday.
Benedict won the match 25-19, 25-7, 25-8 to improve to 14-7 on the season.
The Lady Tigers scored eight points in a row to break away from a close score in the first set.
Desire' Young clinched the first set with a kill.
Benedict went on a 12-0 run in the second set, with
Jadyn Murry's serving to take a 24-6 lead and closed out the set with another kill by Young.
Benedict scored the final eight points of the third set to finish off the match.
Nyla Troncoso finished the match with a kill.
Young led the Lady Tigers with 11 kills.
T'yannah Lake had a season-high six kills. Murry had 16 assists, and
La'Jai Wilson had 13 digs.
Benedict returns to action on Friday at 6 p.m. with a home match against Albany State.
