SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers won the first set, but Savannah State won the next three to take a 3-1 victory in a SIAC women's volleyball match on Friday night.
Savannah State won the match 22-25, 25-23, 25-14, 27-25 to improve to 11-6 overall and 7-5 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 11-5 overall and 8-5 in the SIAC.

Desire' Young had an outstanding match, recording a team-high 14 kills and hitting an astounding .737 (14 kills on 19 attacks and no errors).
Cana Smith added 10 kills and had 15 digs for a double-double.
Jordan Williams had 25 digs and
Jadyn Murry had a team-high 24 assists.
Savannah State had a 21-20 lead in the first set, but Benedict scored the next three points. After SSU scored to make it 23-22, Benedict closed out the set with kills by
Kaiah Green and Smith.
The second set was also close. Benedict had an 18-15 lead, but Savannah State scored the next four points to take a 19-18 lead. The score was later tied at 23-23, but Savannah State closed out the set with a pair of kills.
Savannah State jumped out to a big lead in the third set and held on for the 25-14 win.
The fourth set was close, with Benedict holding a 21-16 lead, but Savannah State scored five of the next six points to cut the lead to 22-21. A kill by Smith gave Benedict a 25-24 lead, but Savannah State scored the next three points on kills to clinch the match.
Benedict travels to take on Clark Atlanta on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
