Ras Jesse Delancy (Benedict) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Victor Scherer (Central State) earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Kendersley Marcellin (Benedict) was tabbed Setter of the Week, released by the league office on Thursday.
OFFENSIVE –
Ras Jesse Delancy, Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Benedict
Jesse Delancy had a record-breaking game in Benedict's 3-1 victory over Truett-McConnell. He recorded 35 kills. The 35 kills by Delancy ranks as the most in a NCAA match so far this season and ties the NCAA record for second-most kills ever in a four-set match. He had 35 kills on 49 total attacks and committed just two errors for a .673 hitting percentage. That hitting percentage is the fourth-best in the NCAA this season for a player with 20 or more attacks.
SETTER –
Kendersley Marcellin, R-Freshman, Setter, Benedict
Benedict's freshman setter had a season-high 35 assists in Benedict's 3-1 victory over Truett-McConnell. He added one kill, one service ace, one solo block and three digs.
