COLUMBIA, SC. - The Benedict College Lady Tigers shot 25 percent, and Claflin shot 50.8 percent to take a 81-64 victory Thursday in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Claflin led 36-31 at the half after shooting 60 percent at the 3-point line in the second quarter. The second quarter concluded with a three pointer from Taylor Christmas.
In the third quarter, Claflin outscored Benedict 26-10. Claflin had a 12-0 run to build a 17-point lead. The lead increased to 62-41 by the end of the third quarter.
Jasmine Gholson shot 3-for-3 at the 3-point line during the fourth quarter. Gholson scored a total of 12 points.
Malayah Montgomery had 12 points while grabbing six rebounds. Christmas added 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Lady Tigers drop to 9-13 overall and Claflin advances to 10-10 overall.
The Lady Tigers are back in action with a conference matchup against Fort Valley State at home on Saturday at 1 p.m.
