NEW ORLEANS – Benedict head football coach
Chennis Berry and members of his coaching staff are serving on the staff at the HBCU Legacy Bowl, which will be played Saturday, and six Benedict football players will be participating in the All-Star contest.
Berry is serving as co-head coach, along with Eric Dooley from Southern University, for Team Robinson. They will go against Team Gaither, coached by Trei Oliver from North Carolina Central and Richard Hayes Jr., from Fayetteville State.
Joining Berry on his staff from Benedict are wide receivers coach Conner Loper, quarterback coach
Kevin Saxton Jr., linebackers coach
Jordan Odaffer, defensive line coach
Gary Howard and defensive backs coach
Kevin King.
Benedict will have six players competing on Team Robinson: offensive linemen

Maurice Campbell; tight end
Eddie Neal; wide receiver
Jayden Thomas and defensive back
Olajuwone Smith.
The HBCU Legacy Bowl, presented by the Black College Football Hall of Fame, is a postseason all-star game showcasing the best NFL draft-eligible football players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It will be broadcast live on NFL Network at 3 p.m.
