SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Benedict College baseball team was held scoreless in both games, dropping a doubleheader to Savannah State on Friday afternoon.
Savannah State scored eight runs in the seventh inning to take the first game 10-0. Savannah State took the second game 4-0, scoring two unearned runs and holding Benedict to four hits.
The Tigers fall to 6-8 overall and 4-7 in the SIAC. Savannah State improves to 13-5 overall and 9-5 in the SIAC.
In the first game, Savannah State broke open a scoreless game with a run in the fifth inning, then added a second run in the sixth. In the seventh inning, Savannah State scored eight runs on four hits and an error.
Benedict had four hits in the second game, with
Fareed Mizelle and
Taj Bates each hitting a double.
Benedict and Savannah State will wrap up their conference series at noon on Saturday.
