Ras Jesse Delancy had 27 kills and
Donovan Wilmott had a career-high 21 kills as the Benedict College Tigers took a 3-2 victory over Carolina University on Tuesday night.
The Tigers edged out a close and tight match, 25-27, 25-22, 27-29, 25-18, 15-12 to improve to 9-7 on the season. Carolina University falls to 6-11.
Delancy, who leads the NCAA in kills per set, had 27 kills on 57 attempts with six errors for a .368 hitting percentage. He had three kills in the key, final set. He also recorded 13 digs for a double-double.
Wilmott surpassed his previous high of 13 kills with his dominating performance. He recorded four kills in the deciding fifth set.
Kendersley Marcellin had 44 assists and
Clint Forbes had 17 digs.
Benedict's next match will be a rematch with Carolina University on April 13 at 6 p.m. in the HRC Arena.
