Benedict Athletics To Host Open House For High School Seniors May 20

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict College will hold an athletic open house and recruitment information fair for unsigned high school seniors on Saturday, May 20.
 
The open house will be held in Benedict College's Swinton Center ballroom, located at 1616 Oak Street, Columbia, S.C. The event will begin at 9 a.m. with registration. Information sessions from Benedict's athletic staff, coaches, admissions and financial aid will follow, as well as time for campus tours.
 
No tryouts will take place that day, although students can bring highlight videos to show to coaches.
 
Students should already be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse and bring their NCAA ID number. Students are encouraged to bring their high school transcripts, or upload them to the Benedict College website at https://apply.benedict.edu/apply/. Official college transcripts for dual enrollment should be sent to transcripts@benedict.edu. To help facilitate the process, student-athletes should also add the Benedict College school code - 003420 - to their FASFA application.
 
Benedict College boasts a highly-competitive NCAA Division II athletic program, and fields teams in football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball, baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, and cheerleading. Benedict has started a men's soccer club program, with the goal to move to the collegiate level in the fall of 2024. During the 2022-23 school year, the Tigers won conference championships in football, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The Tigers also won six conference championships during the 2021-22 school year while being awarded the SIAC Commissioner's Cup, presented to the top athletic program in the conference, for both men's and women's sports.
