Benedict's Delancy Named Honorable Mention All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Benedict College outside hitter Ras Jesse Delancy has been named an honorable mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
 
The AVCA selected 12 first team, 12 second team and 33 honorable mention selections to their 33rd annual National Collegiate Men's Volleyball All-America Teams.
 
Delancy, the two-time SIAC Offensive Player of the Year, led the NCAA in kills per set (5.38) and points per set (6.12). He ranked second in the SIAC and 39th in the nation in hitting percentage (.318).
 
The selections were made by the AVCA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball All-America Committee: chairperson Alan Knipe (Long Beach State), Sam Albus (Lees-McRae), Kevin Burch (Ohio State), John Cash (Lincoln Memorial), Jay Hosack (George Mason), David Kniffin (UC Irvine), Ray Lewis (Merrimack), Mark Pavlik (Penn State), Rock Perrotte (Purdue Fort Wayne), John Speraw (UCLA), Derek Sullivan (Belmont Abbey), Matt Werle (Grand Canyon), and Larry Wrather (Fort Valley State).
