COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's volleyball team fell to Fort Valley State, 3-0, on Saturday morning in SIAC action in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Fort Valley State won the match 25-19, 25-15, 25-15.
Benedict falls to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the SIAC. Fort Valley State moves to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the SIAC.
Desire' Young led Benedict with eight kills.
Kaiah Green added six kills.
Willow Alls had 19 assists, and
Brandi Seaborn and
La'Jai Wilson had 11 digs each. Benedict hit .046 as a team, recording 30 kills on 108 attacks, while committing 25 errors. Fort Valley State hit .317, recording 41 kills on 101 attacks, while committing just nine errors. Fort Valley State also recorded eight blocks.
The Lady Tigers will compete in the second SIAC Crossover on Oct. 11 and 12 to face Miles, Central State and Kentucky State.
