ALBANY, Ga. – The 14
th-ranked Benedict College Tigers rolled to an 86-51 victory over Albany State in a SIAC men's basketball contest on Monday night.
Marshaun West scored 19 points, while
Malachi McCoy had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Frankie Dennard scored a season-high 11 points, and
Bretner Mutumbo grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds.
The Tigers improve to 19-4 overall and 13-4 in the SIAC. Albany State falls to 7-17 overall and 5-13 in the SIAC.
The Tigers used a 12-0 run in the first half to take a 24-9 lead with 4:49 left in the half. The Tigers had a 32-15 lead at the break.
The Tigers scored the first seven points of the second half for a 24-point lead and never had less than a 21-point lead the rest of the way. Benedict had its largest lead, 86-49, with 23 seconds left before the Golden Rams scored the final basket of the game.
Benedict will take on neighbor rival Allen at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Allen.
