COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team won their first match of the season, taking a 6-0 victory over USC Sumter on Sunday afternoon at the Columbia Tennis Center.
Benedict took a pair of wins in doubles action, as
Valerie Essome and
Patricia Wamba won 6-4 at No. 1; and
Emi Smith and
Tanatswa Musabaeka won 6-4 at No. 2.
In singles action, Benedict swept all the matches.
The Lady Tigers will compete in the SIAC Roundup in Mobile, Ala., beginning Thursday.
