HOOVER, Ala. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers wrapped up the SIAC Crossover with a 9-6 victory over Miles on Thursday at the Hoover Met Complex.
Spring Hill took a 9-1 victory over Benedict in the other game for the Lady Tigers.
Against Miles, Benedict rallied from a 2-0 deficit to score five runs in the bottom of the first inning.
T'yannah Lake and
Olivia Townsend had RBI singles, and
Jamaiyah Howard drove in two runs with a double.
The Lady Tigers then scored four more runs in the second inning to take a 9-2 lead.
Shamaria Dupree had an RBI triple and Lake hit a solo home run.
Dupree went 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI, while Howard went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Lake went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.
Against Spring Hill, the Badgers took a 7-0 lead.
Heaven Strickland had an RBI double in the fifth inning for Benedict's lone run.
The Lady Tigers are now 4-17 overall and 2-7 in the SIAC. Benedict takes on Allen in a three-game SIAC series, with a doubleheader schedule for Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Benedict's Tiger Field.
