ATLANTA, Ga. – The Benedict College softball team dropped a pair of one-run games to Clark Atlanta in a SIAC doubleheader on Saturday.
Clark Atlanta won the first game 7-6 by scoring five runs in the sixth and then scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a one-out single. The Panthers won the second game 5-4 by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the win.
Benedict falls to 11-29 overall and 7-16 in the SIAC, and falls into fifth-place in the SIAC East Division, and was eliminated from making the SIAC Tournament. Clark Atlanta improves to 15-31 overall and 6-17 in the SIAC.
Tre'sor Eady went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the first game.
Olivia Townsend had one hit and a pair of RBIs. In the second game,
T'yannah Lake went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Kayla Hunt went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Benedict will close out the 2024 season on Sunday with the third game of the series against Clark Atlanta, starting at 1 p.m.
