COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers wrapped up the 2024 season on Saturday, as Savannah State completed a SIAC baseball series sweep with a 17-1 victory.
The Tigers were held to four hits on the day.
Kent Johnson had a pair of hits. Senior first baseman
Jalen McDuffie, who was honored prior to the game, had one hit and pitched the final inning.
Savannah State scored one run in the first inning, then scored 10 runs on eight hits and one Benedict error in the third inning.
Benedict scored its lone run in the sixth inning, as
Jamell Mitchell Jr. led off with a single, stole second and third, and came home on a sacrifice fly by
Jacob Hall.
Benedict wraps up the season at 14-25 overall and 10-23 in the SIAC.
