ATLANTA, Ga. – Benedict shot 40 percent, including 25.9 percent from 3-point range, as Clark Atlanta took a 79-57 victory over the Tigers in a SIAC men's basketball contest on Monday night.
The Tigers made 24-of-60 shots from the floor, and went 7-of-27 from beyond the arc.
The Panthers used a 10-0 run early in the game to take a 14-5 lead, and scored the final five points of the first half to take a 38-28 lead at the break. Benedict never got closer than 11 points in the second half.
Donte Whymns led the Tigers with 16 points and was the only Benedict player in double figures. Benedict falls to 3-12 overall and 3-6 in the SIAC. Clark Atlanta, the leader in the SIAC East Division, improves to 10-5 overall and 7-1 in the SIAC.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday with a home game against Fort Valley State at 3 p.m.
