COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College men's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season on Sunday, celebrating Senior Day with a 3-1 victory over Morehouse College.
Benedict dropped the first set 25-23, but then won the next three sets, 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.
The Tigers had four players in double-figure kills, led by senior
De'Andrae Taylor, who had a career-high 12 kills while hitting .611. He also had six total blocks, with five of them solo blocks.
Zion Beckford, another senior, had 11 kills, as did
Jared Brown.
Camron Petillo added 19 kills. Senior setter
Kendersley Marcellin had 45 assists, one shy of his season and career high. The Tigers also recognized seniors
Marlon Belizaire and
Jomari Jacobs.
Benedict moves to 11-9 overall, while Morehouse goes to 4-13. This was a non-conference match.
Benedict will travel to Fort Valley, Ga., to compete in the 2025 Cricket SIAC Men's Volleyball Championship, with the first round on Tuesday. Benedict, the fourth seed, will take on Morehouse, the fifth seed, at 12:30 p.m.
