AIKEN, S.C. – USC Aiken swept a non-conference softball doubleheader over Benedict College on Tuesday.
USC Aiken won the first game 12-3 in five innings, then won the second game 12-1, also in five innings.
In the first game, the Lady Tigers were trailing 12-0 before scoring three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Mikaila Rodgers hit a two-out single to score

Megan Blanks followed with a two-run double.
In the second game, the Lady Tigers were held to one hit – a third-inning bunt single by
Heaven Strickland. Benedict's only run came in the fourth inning when
Shamaria Dupree opened the inning by reaching on an error, advanced to third on a passed ball, and later scored on another passed ball.
USC Aiken goes to 24-23 on the season. Benedict falls to 17-19.
The Lady Tigers will play Claflin on Saturday at 1 p.m. in a non-conference doubleheader. Benedict will honor five seniors in between games.
