Benedict Climbs To No. 4 In HBCU D2 Coaches Poll

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College football team climbed five spots and moved to No. 4 in this week's edition of the HBCU D2 Football Coaches Poll, powered by BoxToRow.
 
The Tigers are coming off an impressive 45-24 victory over Tuskegee last Thursday night in a televised game. Tuskegee, which was No. 8 last week, dropped two spots to No. 10.

Benedict received 118 points, as well as two first-place votes, from the panel of 18 head coaches. Benedict is the only remaining undefeated team in the poll.
 
Virginia Union remains in the top spot. Benedict is one of six SIAC schools represented in the top 10. This week's opponent, Clark Atlanta, is ranked ninth.
 
In its fourth year, the HBCU Division II Coaches Poll is administered by BOXTOROW, and is voted on by the HBCU NCAA Division II coaches.
