COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's volleyball team served up 13 service aces and hit .302 as they defeated Clinton College 3-1 in a non-conference match on Tuesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Benedict won the match 25-9, 25-19, 21-25, 25-13. The Lady Tigers improve to 5-1 on the season, while Clinton falls to 7-6 overall.
The Lady Tigers had three players with double-figure kills.
Mia Burgess had 15 kills and hit .343.
Desire' Young had 10 kills, while adding three and a half blocks and one service ace.
Nyla Troncoso had a season-high 10 kills.
Willow Alls had 23 assists while serving up four aces.
Jadyn Murry had 19 assists and served three aces.
Kylie Jackson also served three aces and had a team-high 13 digs.
Benedict travels to Albany, Ga., to open conference play on Thursday at the first SIAC roundup. Benedict will play four conference matches over two days. The Lady Tigers return home to take on Savannah State next Tuesday.
